So is it possible though that the small amount of gluten in oats could affect someone with an intolerance? And are any of these causes of dizziness upon standing up linked to gluten intolerance or is there any relation between a eating intolerance and this dizziness possibly?
Alright , thanks again. So is it possible though that the small amount of gluten in oats could affect someone with an intolerance? And are any of these causes of dizziness upon standing up linked to gluten intolerance or is there any relation between a eating intolerance and this dizziness possibly?
Hi
Thanks for keeping me posted!
Well oats have gluten. At least during their processing some gluten is added. However since oats are not gluten rich, many people with gluten intolerance or sensitivity tolerate oats. Also gluten free oats are available.
Dizziness on standing up can be due to postural or orthostatic hypotension, anemia, cervical spondylosis
Please discuss this with your doctor. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Okay thanks a lot, i got a few more questions. I have read that oats don't have gluten is this true, or will they affect people who are gluten intolerant? Im pretty sure they do affect me. Also, is dizziness upon standing a symptom of gluten intolerance, wheat allergy , or oat allergy?

Hi
Welcome to the forum!
Well since you get bloating and flatulence, more pronounced after a morning ceral of oat and wheat, there is a huge chance that you have gluten intolerance or celiac disease or Non Celiac gluten sensitivity. There are blood tests called celiac test to detect gluten intolerance. You should ideally consult a gastroenterologist (a specialist who looks after the diseases of our digestive system).
You can stop the cereals and see if this helps. Also if you do have gluten intolerance, you will have to stop taking all food items containing wheat, rye, barley and oats.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
