Itchy Skin Rash - HELP!

I have had a extremely itchy rash mostly on my torso (below my breasts, around my waist, armpits, inside of my elbows, behind my knees, etc.) for a few weeks now.  There is no rash on my legs.  I went to the doctor a couple of weeks ago and he said it was due to detergent.  I took all of the steroids (10mg) he prescribed and it subsided.  Today, it is back and very itchy!  What should I do next?  Is there something I can try OTC to get rid of this?  I tried Cortizone creams, etc. before going to the doctor and nothing worked.  Could this be something else?  Thank you and help!

Hi, the probabilities of the itching with rashes are Atopic dermatitis, Contact dermatitis, sweat dermatitis, seborrheic dermatitis and drug reaction. There seems to be persistent allergic insult by the allergen (detergents, garments, soap etc.)

You need to report if you have taken any suspected drug before this like sulfa drugs. Also any previous history of eczema, asthma, and allergic rhinitis should also be taken in to consideration.

Oral anti-histaminics and corticosteroid against prescription, which may help to alleviate these symptoms. You need to avoid exposure to detergent to prevent further complication. If you want to use it you can wear gloves so that direct contact can be avoided.

I suggest you to consult a dermatologist. Take care and regards.
