That is a good idea. I am going to make a note of that and talk it over with my allergist.

It sure does make sense.  It is the main reason I didn't want the shots.  Actually, for me, since I know about the depth of my allergicness to things, it has helped me plan better.  Dust is a big problem. We have changed the way we do things in our home...no carpet, except guest rooms, removed most loose things that collect dust. Often we have to wash curtains and bedding in 140' water.  I now have a face respirator mask that uses filter cartridges that protect against just about any air particle.  You can get them at an industrial place. They often sell them to construction companies etc.  I use it to clean and do laundry and feel like I can at least do some things. I have asthma to, so I have to be extra careful  I just didn't think I could deal with  a major dust allergy/asthma/shots.   Have you asked your dr. for an honest evaluation on the effectiveness of shot therapy involving dust?

so i'm guessing shots weren't succesful for you then? I might be starting soon but am worried that the shots will be useless amplete avoidance of dust is impossible and will interfere withh the build up phase of the shots if that makes any sense..

I have allergy testing done and am working within the perimeters of that testing. Been down the shots trail. Knowing  what I am all allergic too has helped tremendously. I have other health issues that conflict with some of my asthma medicines so I am careful what I take. I have a good allergist/asthma dr. who has proven trustworthy on recommendations for things I can do at home to help myself.  That has been a big help.

Hi, have you ever gone about getting allergy shots?

I have recently been in the same situation.  I have allergies (dust included) and always get sinus infection.  My allergist has given me an action plan that works very well. There are no quick fixes, but if it is viral it takes it course. I use flonase or afrin (only 3-4 days at a time, then off), nasal rinses 3x day. My allergist said NOT to take antihistames. Use a decongestant only.  I use Mucinex D, but watch the BP. Sometimes I use plain Sudafed(no antihistimine in it) and plain Mucinex together when I am out of Mucinex D.  Every time it takes 2-2 1/2 weeks to recover, but I am able to recover with no dr. visits.
