cholinergic urticaria

i am a physician 23 years old
i am complaining from cholinergic urticaria more evident during change of weather from summer to winter and it lasts for 4 months every year i feel with severe painful itching followed by sedation and dyspnea
i cannot even have a social contact with others in winter when i am wearing heavy clothes i have to take them off
  
i am under atarax 10 mg ,ketotifen,telfast 120 mg once daily from each i became much better but still cannot play sports
i woukd like to ask about role of steroids and IGE therapy ?

I have CU too. what can i do about it? can it be cured?

Hi,

It would be better to continue with the antihistamine medications nad consult an allergy specialist.

Rather than steroids and IgE therapy ; cholinergic urticaria in some cases is known to respond to H2 blockers like cimetidine and anticholinergic agents like benztropine.

You could discuss this with your allergy specialist too.

Let us know about what he/she advises and about how you are doing.
