foot pain

My husband has a pain on bottom of his foot(around the arch)It is very painful when walking and to the touch, I have tried heat wrap and tried cold wrap, but does not seem to help. He is diabetic and has 2 insulin shots per day. There is also a small  spot where it is sore on his foot. Is there anything else I can do to help him? Also  gave him a foot massage, because I thought it could be his blood not getting through. Then if it wasn't it would turn purple. I hope you can help,
                                               Thank you Anucker

Thank you, I will get him diabetic socks and shoes. Never tried that, so hopefully he will feel better. He has good foot hygiene and will consult a podiatrist.

                      Thanks again--Take care

Hello,

As your husband is a diabetic and moreover there is a soft sore on the foot,so the possibility of diabetic foot is there. Diabetic foot is an umbrella term for foot problems in patients with diabetes mellitus.

To prevent diabetic foot ulcers,he should have good foot hygiene, wear diabetic socks and shoes, and avoid injury.A consultation of a podiatrist will be the best.

Take care and pls do keep me posted on how your husband is doing or if you have any additional doubts.
