7 teeth extracted (3 wisdom teeth) and rapid hair loss

Hi,

I have been experiencing hair loss for about 3 and a half months now. I'm 24 and have my dentist extract 7 teeth to get my braces in. One of these was an impacted wisdom tooth while the others were just basically in the way.

Last May I had 3 teeth pulled out (third molars including wisdom tooth). Two weeks later, I began to notice that my hair came off very easily (just by stroking it) and have become very thin. They all fell out from the root.  I was afraid to take a shower because even more hair fell out.

Come early August, I got the last 4 teeth  extracted (premolars). By this time, my hair was still shedding so I was afraid to take the prescribed medication, though I still took it.

I took Cefalexin (antibiotic)  3 times a day for 7 days after each of the May and August operations. I also took Dolfenal and Hemostan a few times.

It is late September now and I have yet to open this up to any doctor. I'm still shedding fast and my hair has gone really thin all around my head.

I have read that antibiotics may cause hair loss and such problem is temporary - I'm staying positive that this is true.

I don't normally post things on the net but it has just been very stressful and embarrassing that I ought to reach out. Your professional advice is very much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Yours truly,
Sai
