My 3 and1/2 year old grand daughter seems to be getting a couple of bald spots this is just recent and have not taken her to an M.D. yet. anyone have any ideas what this could be?

There could be a number of possibilities, so it's best to get your granddaughter in to see a doctor.  She could have alopecia, which is a common disorder (appox 1% of the population has it).  You should see a doctor to rule out other possible problems.  If you would like to know more about alopecia, you can go to the National Alopecia Areata Foundation's web site (NAAF.org).  Or, you could ask here.  

Please let us know how she is.

Children can develop Alopecia but do outgrow it.  It is best to get her to a doctor to rule out any medical conditions causing this.
