Type Diabeteics and marijuana

I am a type 1 diabetic and i was diagnosed when i was 7 , I'm now 17 i have read many of these threads an they all seem to talk about marijuana not being bad besides the munchies fact, but i want to know if inhaling marijuana smoke (emphasis on the smoke) is less or more harmful than tobacco smoke. because seeing as how tobacco smoke messes with blood circulation, blood pressure, and that smoke hardens your nerves and arteries. i want to know if the marijuana smoke is any different or less detrimental to type 1 diabetics. I've searched all over the internet for a specific answer to this and no one has it. I firmly understand that the THC from weed is good but is the smoke from weed really that bad for you? As for my experience with weed, ive sometimes felt like my feet and hands are hot and feel kind of swollen, but sometimes feel really relaxed and drowsy, but i like the good more than the bad so i continue to do it. And i don't it also might be the quality of the bud which is why i feel the swelling and stuff but im not sure.I probably will stop if i find that it does mess with your nerves and stuff but im asking for a clear and definite answer.

The incomplete burning of anything is harmful.  It's just like car exhaust -- the problem with it is the burning isn't a complete burning, so there are harmful byproducts.  Be the same if you were smoking anything.  But MJ doesn't contain the harmful chemicals that tobacco does, such as nicotine and the many carcinogens.  MJ does affect people differently, and any time you ingest anything on a regular basis that affects brain function, well, you never know.  For some it's fine, for others it isn't.  Same with pharmaceuticals.  You would have been safer with plain MJ the way it exists in nature, which is to say bad weed.  The weed now is bred to be extremely high in THC.  You also have with tobacco an enormous number of pesticides and other toxic chemicals that are applied at all stages of production.  This is also true of much of the weed around today, and not true of other batches.  But you can get around the smoke problem by eating it -- you don't have to smoke it.  Medical MJ is often recommended to be cooked into food for this reason, to avoid the byproducts of incomplete burning.  The other problem is that MJ can slow the metabolism of some and increase it for others, and metabolism is a problem for diabetics.  It's a very individual situation.  And if it does encourage you to eat when and what you shouldn't, that's no good, either.  But it's your choice and your balancing act to make.

Tobacco smoking ............ >> 443,000
Drug induced1 ................>> 38,371
Alcohol induced..................>> 23,199
Cannabis (Marijuana) >>>>>>>  0   <<<<<<<<<<< (including diabetics).

I am a type 1 diabetic since I was 11 (now 20), been smoking MJ for 2 years now... it's done wonders (in a good way), but only because I CHOOSE to take care of myself while I'm high (i.e. checking blood sugar more than regularly & not eating more than necessary)....

Granted, no smoke from any plant is "good" for you... it could induce asthma in very small increments... or paranoia, OCD... other things, but nothing that actually harms a diabetic. YOU can harm yourself if you choose to, and people can blame deaths of diabetics on the pot, but it's just the fact that they chose not to watch over themselves... hope that helps! Be safe!
