Margy, don't believe I deleted anyone's posts.  Don't have that power.  But if someone puts up information I know might harm someone or make it so it won't work, it would be negligent of me not to say something.  It is, as always, up to the reader to make up their own mind.

am sorry to hear that about your son. so sometimes it is just as simple as good nutrition.
some don'ts: dairy that is not grass fed or even homogenized, white flour(including pastas), white sugar, gmo cereals, meats that are gmo corn fed (just about everything in the grocery store), high fructrose corn syrup

some dos: fresh vegs and fruits (uncooked for optimum benefits), whole grains, coconut oil, lots of clean water, eggs from farmers market, meats- grass fed.

a 2 year olds diet is very important as they hardly eat a thing at this age. better that all they have all day is an apple, piece of whole grain toast, maybe an egg.
rather than a  processed frozen meal or spagetti dinner, or cooked to death vegs.

although supplements are always better than nothing. unfortunately, our bodies have a hard time absorbing the nutrients this way. it is always best in it's natural form. food. hope the little tyke is feeling great soon.

I am sorry for the statement i said on homeopathy which was a raw traditional scientific statement and we should talk about homeopathy here since it is an alternative remedies which is what this forum is all about. I will try to have an open mind and stay out of the traditional scientific biased mind.

Again, echinacea isn't to be used regularly, only when needed, because it can overtax the immune system.  Alcohol free extracts don't work very well because they aren't very strong; they substitute sugary stuff like glycerine for the excellent extractive properties of alcohol.  Plants of course are subject to the the laws of physics, as are all things, but the internal workings of plants are governed by chemistry, not quantum physics.  I do like your suggestions of Nature's Plus, an excellent company that independently tests all its vitamins.  Herb Pharm and Planetary Herbals are two of the best companies out there, founded by some of the foremost herbalists in the world, and are good sources of into if the poster wants to contact the companies and see what they suggest for such a young child.  Homeopathy intentionally has no active ingredients in it but instead works on a theory of the energy of the plant or substance being what remains.  I have no idea if this will end up scientifically accurate or not, I just know it works for many people; I know many people who have raised their children to be quite healthy by using homeopathic physicians as their primary docs, thus avoiding the overuse of antibiotics and steroids which are used by allopathic physicians with abandon.  The reason you don't want the active ingredients in homeopathy is because they're using the Law of Similars, which means they are using substances that in macro amounts cause the symptoms you're trying to alleviate, but in highly diluted form so that all that's left is the energy, not the harmful substance.  Is it scientific?  Who knows?  People had instincts in the past we have lost in our industrialized society -- they somehow knew which foods were edible, which had benefits, which were toxic.  We don't anymore.  We've lost our ability to sense these things.  A wolf doesn't scientifically know it eats rodents and caribou and not berries, but somehow it figures this out.  This is evolutionary biology, not quantum physics, which is why the people who study plants are ethno-botanists, not physicists.  And I hope this is the end of this thread, for heaven's sake.  Accept disagreement, it won't harm you.  Only blind faith will harm you.

And i didn't get my info from a site funded by the pharmaceutical industry, homeopathy violates the laws of physics and chemistry period. But i will look forward to document myself a bit more on the energetics you are talking about which for me sounds like quantum effects but even then i don't believe there still something in that water even, on the quantum scale, that sounds like a remedy. You said science wasn't able to figure out plants but actually quantum physics and biophysics did figure out what was happening and plants use quantum physics.

I'm not going to argue with you on homeopathy but i will defend myself on you saying that i recommended things i didn't to the child. If you read carefully the first recommendation were not for a child as next thing i said was:

''But since it's for a children i would go with Vitamin C, which can be obtain with vitamin supplement ( try looking up Nature's Plus, Source of Life, Animal Parade, Children's Chewable Vitamin C, Natural Orange Juice Flavor ) or by including a lot of fruits in his diet. Vitamin C is extremely good at boosting the immune system. I would also have a look at Herb Pharm's Children's Echinacea, Alcohol-Free, Orange Flavored liquid formula, Planetary Herbals, Well Child, Immune Chewable, 570 mg ( half doses ).''

Okay.  Where to start.  Again you're posting your misinformation about homeopathy which you got from a website funded by the pharmaceutical industry to debunk natural remedies.  I already told you France has very good research on homeopathy showing it works because it takes it seriously, as does Japan.  Homeopathy doesn't work on the theory of macro nutrients, it works on energetics.  It's hard to prove energetics, but it's the same theory supporting yoga, acupuncture, tai chi, etc. etc. etc.  Just because we lack the tools to prove it doesn't mean it doesn't work.  It's worked for me.  Do you know there isn't a single plant yet that science has been able to figure out?  Not one.  They're too complicated for our current level of science.  As I explained before, take the example of St. John's Wort.  It is an anti viral, but is also used for depression.  It was studied most in Germany, although only in standardized form.  And they standardized for the wrong chemical, believing hypericin was the active ingredient.  It wasn't.  And just look at the name, hypericin.  It's called that because the Latin name for St. John's Wort is hypericum.  They have no idea how this chemistry works, because again, plant chemistry is beyond our current scientific abilities to understand.  They then standardized for hyper-florins, which turned out to be more related to its effect on depression.  Now, how does it work?  Nobody knows.  First they called it an MAO inhibitor, but it turned out not to be.  Then they called it a stimulant of serotonin, but there's no proof of that, either.  It works on many people, as shown in the German Commission E studies, but nobody knows how or why because plants are just too complicated for us.

Ascorbyl palmitate is an artificial man-made fat soluble form of vitamin C -- it occurs nowhere in nature.  Not what I'd give a child.  It's mostly used on the skin, because it doesn't oxidize on contact with air as water soluble C does.

Now, as to the immune boosters recommended, I would definitely not give mushroom based supplements to a child since there is some possible toxicity.  Adults can do this, but I wouldn't do it with such a young child.  Same with beta glucans, which come from mushrooms or yeast -- allergy alert!  Elderberry isn't an immune system builder, it's an anti-viral, and most Sambucol products add a lot of sweetener to make it taste good.  For an adult, I take the extract from Quantum or Eclectic Institute.  Olive leaf is also a good anti-viral.  I use the two in combination, but they only work if you have a virus.  So I still say, try the homeopathy.  There are study centers in most urban areas that can help you and homeopaths are MDs who have turned away from allopathic medicine, so they are good at diagnosis.  Good luck.

Hello there,

There are many herbs and product that will promote a good immune system. Some of them include  Sambucus Black Elder Berry extract, Beta D-Glucan, Mushrooms complex, Ascorbil Palmitate, Echinacea etc.

But since it's for a children i would go with Vitamin C, which can be obtain with vitamin supplement ( try looking up Nature's Plus, Source of Life, Animal Parade, Children's Chewable Vitamin C, Natural Orange Juice Flavor ) or by including a lot of fruits in his diet. Vitamin C is extremely good at boosting the immune system. I would also have a look at Herb Pharm's Children's Echinacea, Alcohol-Free, Orange Flavored liquid formula, Planetary Herbals, Well Child, Immune Chewable, 570 mg ( half doses ).

I wouldn't consider homeopathic medicine because of the simple reason that it's only water with no specific medicine and it's not proven scientifically and will never be. Homeopathic power remains in the placebo effects and such effects won't happen in your 2 years old kid. For homeopathy to be more than water it would have to violate the laws of chemistry and physics such as the law of mass action and the chemistry laws that there is a limit to the dilution that can be made without losing the original substance ( all that is left into homeopathic remedies is water and only water ) .

Physicist Robert L. Park, former executive director of the American Physical Society, has noted that

“since the least amount of a substance in a solution is one molecule, a 30C solution would have to have at least one molecule of the original substance dissolved in a minimum of 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 molecules of water. This would require a container more than 30,000,000,000 times the size of the Earth.''

Park has also noted that "to expect to get even one molecule of the 'medicinal' substance allegedly present in 30X pills, it would be necessary to take some two billion of them, which would total about a thousand tons of lactose plus whatever impurities the lactose contained"

Best regards,
M4

I'm not sure, but I think there's a goat milk colostrum.  At least I remember one.  Still not as good as human milk, but better than cow.  Am I mis-remembering this?

Colostrum is the fluid that new mothers' breasts produce during the first day or two after birth. It gives newborn infants a rich mixture of antibodies and growth factors that help them get a good start.

Although colostrum has been available since the first mammals walked the earth, it is relatively new as a nutritional supplement. The resurgence of breastfeeding in the 1970s sparked a revival of interest in colostrum for both infants and adults.

However, most commercial colostrum preparations come from cows, not humans. The antibodies a mother cow gives to her calf are designed to fend off bacteria that are dangerous to cows; these may be very different from those that pose risks to humans. Nonetheless, colostrum also contains substances that might offer general benefits, such as growth factors (which stimulate the growth and development of cells in the digestive tract and perhaps elsewhere) and transfer factor (which may have general immune-activating properties). In addition, some researchers have used a special form of colostrum called hyperimmune colostrum, created by inoculating cows with bacteria and viruses that affect humans. The cow in turn makes antibodies to them and secretes those antibodies into its colostrum. Hyperimmune colostrum has shown considerable promise as an infection-fighting agent.

Hyperimmune colostrum, however, is not available over-the-counter as a dietary supplement. Non-hyperimmune colostrum might have some value too, but the evidence is much weaker.

I would recommend a homeopathic physician.  The remedies are diluted down to nothing so it won't hurt him, and this could partly be a response to antibiotics if they've been used more than once.  I wouldn't use echinacea too much for a child or adult; regular use can overtax the immune system.  It's only meant for occasional use.  But for small children, I'd still go with homeopathy first.  Also, did you breastfeed?  If not, the child didn't get his early immune system, and you might want to look into a supplement called colostrum.

If you have not already, cut out all refined sugars from his diet. Sugar wreaks havoc on the immune system. Other than that, you could try omega 3 fatty acids and echinacea.
