ALS presentation on MRI? - Neurology - MedHel

I was diagnosed with MS in October.
I have had symptoms of weakness and mobility problems that have continually progressed since then.

There has been not remittance.

My question is int he interest of diagnosis, do people diagnosed with ALS present with brain lesions as they do with MS?

I have any lesions that were attributed to the ms but were considered atypical.

I also just ended a course of solumedrol infusion and the last two courses helped tremendously.
This last course has left me fairly unchanged.  I need a walker to get around the house and am looking into a wheelchair.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.
I am nervouse at the swift progression and figured maybe someone dealing with the disease would better answer this question.  I will also ask my neurologist at my next visit.

Thanks so much and I send you all my prayers.

Thanks so much.
Snce posting, my physical therapist have found rapidly increased weakness bilatterally.

My neurologist is aware and looking at why the progression is happening ash my MRI is unchanged since October.

I am leaving it in the hands and expertise of my neuro.
The net is good for explanations but definately not diagnosing.

I am luckily I good hand.

Thanks so much.

I would suggest getting to an Lyme Literate Medical Doctor and getting tested for Lyme Disease. Often misdiagnosed as it often has the symptoms of those diseases. Igenex.com is a good lab to get tested. Canlyme.com for more info. Hope this helps.

Hi!
Though ALS is a progressive neurodegenerative disease involving upper and lower motor neuron, progressive ALS also shows a decrease in brain volume. The most common change is grey matter atrophy. However, whether you have this or not cannot be ascertained on net. Also a disease may present atypically, may not show all the signs and symptoms. Hence, it is best to discuss this with your neurologist. Take care!
