Facial numbness and tingling

I suffered a SAH on the 24 Jan 2013.  I was operated on and three platinum coils were successfully placed in the aneurysm in the anterior cerebral artery. My recovery was fast and miraculous in every way.  Recently I've been experiencing a tingling, numbness along my jaw bone and chin and I have also felt the same in my hands.  I contacted my neurosurgeon as I thought I was having a stroke but after numerous questions, he put my mind at rest that all is well. I have since discovered that a bleed out can result in low iron and vitamin B counts and this could cause facial parasthesia.   My question is whether other aneurysm survivor's have experienced the same post op symptoms - is it neurological, a vitamin deficiency or is it just because my concern has created anxiety?

I will call my Neurosurgeon in the morning and ask him for a copy of the report. Thank you so much. My skin is very sensitive and I have developed dermographia which is an allergic reaction - or could also be an iron deficiency. This is indeed an interesting path to travel.

Linda,

If your Neurosurgeon tested your blood and has a report to document such levels then you may have your answer.  If however it is just a guess then you need to stay on top of this and seek out a different Doctor while keeping this Neurosurgeon in the loop.

Implants do indeed cause strange symptoms and defining the trigger of these effects, especially in the brain, is my research interest.  Call the Doctor's office to see if you can have a copy of the report.
