Cat in new home not using litter box

We recently moved into a home where the sellers cats urinated on their carpet.  We've had the carpeting cleaned but our cat, who never missed the litter box prior to the move, is now urinating on the carpet.  Any recommendations on how we can get this stopped?

You can try cleaning the area with Natures Miracle, and using a Feliway Defuser, (both are available at pet stores or online), but Heartfluttersflyawayplz may be right.
