Is my bird bulimic

My lovebird is two and a half years old,for the past 7 t0 8 months he has been acting very weird.  He rubs himself against his toys, perches or anything you put into his cage, also if I'm holding him he tries to rub himself in my hands. I know what the rubbing is. But I'm concerned because he is doing this 24/7, he doesn't stop, it goes on even after I cover him for the night.  Another part of his behavior is that he is eating and rejurgitating his food and feeding his toys and perches 24/7 he alternates his rubbing and rejurgitating.  He eats well and I make sure he has plenty of fresh food, pellets and seeds I also give him vitamins and calcium but because he throws up everything he eats I think he's bulimic.  His weight is steady at 53 grams,  he was 56- 60 grams when he was a baby.
Can you please tell me what's wrong with him and how can I help him.
I really appreciate your help.

Sorry your question has slipped by without a "real" answer. Like I said, I only work with wild birds and I don't know what will help your little kid.

Are there any bird fanciers clubs in your area? We have several in our area, folks that deal with exotics (everything from ring neck doves to parrots and peacocks). Even if you have to email a breeder, it might be helpful. How's the bird's weight doing?

Sounds hormonal to me and wanting to breed. With our birds at work, we just wait it out and they get past it. But I deal with wild birds and we don't do a breeding program. I sure the doctor will have a better suggestion. Glad to hear the weight is holding steady.

Thank you Ireneo, I have visited other bird boards with no luck. Also some Breeder Boards and still waiting to hear.  My little bird is weighing 51 grams right now from 53, so he's loosing some weight.  He eats constantly so I keep his plates full at all times.
The amount of food he puts out is like five times what he eats. I really don't get it.
His cage is so messy I have to wash it every day.  Today I took him out of his cage and put him in another cage.  That made him stop his crazy behavior for a while because he was a little disoriented. Two hours later he was back to mating, eating and rejurgitating.
I will keep looking for answers to this thing.  The vets I took him to said he was heathy in all other aspects, just to let him be.  But I think something bad is going to happen to him is this keeps up.  I still think somebody out there can help me stop his behavior, so I will keep looking.  I doing some search for Bird Clubs now.

Thank you so much.

If anyone outhere has had an experience of this kind with their bird please help me out.  I'm at my wits end with my bird regurgitating 24/7. The vets overhere are not much help.
One of them said my bird was just horny. Another one told me to get him a mate.
What worries me is that the continous behavior is going to get my lovie sick and he can die.  This Baby was hatched here and I hand fed him.  He's a real wonderful pet and I don't want to loose him.

Thank you all.

Yes, this is the doctor's forum and they pop in as often as they can. I hope they can make a suggestion or two soon.

Thank you Irene.   I thought it was hormonal and that it would pass but he's been doing this for too long. Does the Doctor answers right here?  I'm new here.  I need to know what I can do to help my bird.
