poss. abcess

Can a dog get an abcess from a snake bite to his head.?    Swelling, sore draining today.  We have massage a drained it three times today.  Dog seems to feel good.  Hasn't stopped eating. After the draining it goes down for awhile, then fills back up.  We did not see the dog get snake bitten.  We had previous dog to get bitten before and it looked like the same thing until.  Has lose hair in this area.  Looks like a big swollen boil.  How should we treat it, or if there is a home remedy, or vet should see him?

Kevinpo's comments are spot on. The dog may have an abscess. Get him seen by a veterinarian and treated right away please.

Snake mouths can be pretty dirty.  Anything that punctures the skin can lead to an abcess.  The best remedy is draining the pus and prescribing antibiotics, which requires a trip to the vet.  If it's on the top of the head there's no way to drain well.  And draining doesn't kill the infection.
