I understand about that "not giving a rats rear" feeling. It's no way to live, that's for sure. Many people with depression and anxiety do just fine with talk therapy alone. Sometimes I think we, as a society in whole, are too lazy to do the work that therapy requires and just want to pop a pill for the quick fix. And before everyone gets their knickers in a knot, I KNOW and BELIEVE that many of us DO need the additon of a medication to help us deal with our issues.......and there is nothing wrong with that. I take medication......my best friend takes medication, my DOG takes medication........
Good luck with your therapy and let us know how you're doing!

Thanks , I just did not like the feeling of "oh well" with everything I did ha ha.
Anyway the CBT is helping allot and I am getting out allot more. thanks for the concern!
I've never taken Zoloft, so I'm kind of wingin' this reply. Is it possible you just didn't give the Zoloft enough time? 8 days really isn't much of a trial...........the side effects would still be fairly "strong" at that stage and may have begun to diminish very soon. But we all deal with side effects differently, and if they were intolerable to you, then it was best to get off the stuff. Have you considered trying a different antidepressant?
It's good that you're in CBT and you and your therapist can decide when and what your next step should/could be. Maybe just the talking will get you past this hurdle!
You must always do what's best for YOU, and I know you will. You'll get through this just fine...........you're strong and determined.

I stopped it completely. as for the xanax I weamed off that last month, did you check out my open journal, it really was not that hard, but I had my moments and had to tell meself to knock it off and stop thinking about weaning off and the side effects. well you know how that goes, I just really kept myself busy! allot off walking.
So, are you saying you stopped zoloft or are you still taking it. I don't want to feel like "it doesn't matter" thats not me. I'm weaning off xanax but I do feel more heart racing. I'm doing breathing exercises and it seem to calm them down. I'm more scared of reactions from taking less xanax than anything. Hope you feeling better. :>
Even after 8 days I was like, no matter what happens "I am ok with it"? I swear we could have a earthquake and I would be like, kewl..... ha ha
it worked for me last time, but last time was worse then this time and I was on xanax and slowly stopped the xanax as the zoloft was working, then stopped zoloft. but not this time, so I journal it all and keep it mind to move on. ;-)
My friend takes zoloft for 7 months and I don't think shes very happy. She went on it when she had a few panic attacks and she said she knew she was depressed. I didn't think she was depressed but thats what she said. I just think she was plain unhappy in her marriage and she still is. She said it works for her. Strange thing too, when she started she had no side effects and just went straight on it no problem. She does still have a few panic attacks and she takes a xanax and shes fine. I don't think shes generally happy though.
