Anxiety eating or emotional

Why do I have such a hard time staying away from any kind of food in the evenings? I realize there are many things involved i.e. loneliness, anxiety, emotional. I know that there are many solutions to this, joining a gym is out of the question, because of the expense. Could you give me some ideas. Thank you.

We just launched a new Emotional Eating forum where you can get personal answers for Dr. Roger Gould (who also answers in our Mental Health forum). This sounds like a question you could ask him as well. The forum is at: http://www.medhelp.org/forums/show/145.

Well exercise is definetly a big one and the great thing is you dont even have to join a gym to get a good workout.  If you have a pool use that, because it is definetly the most exhausting and easiest on your joints.  If not that then start power walking and move your way up to jogging or even biking around your neighborhood.  Im not sure how old you are but listening to some hard and loud rock music or messing around with my guitar to get my creative juices flowing and is very theraputic.  Basically just think of any relaxing and/or theraputic activity that you enjoy doing and get at it.  I hope I helped a bit.  God bless
