For about 19 years I've had a form of globus ever since I choked on a biscuit bar in primary school. It started very mildly but as I grew older and into puberty is became worse over time to what it is now. Almost constantly I have a tighter feeling in my throat and a feeling of gagging. If I do nothing I'll gag continuously until I eat something (drinking liquid very rarely helps, it's almost always solids that fixes it temporarily). It's gotten to the point where I carry biscuits with me at all times to soothe my throat when needed. Some days it's worse than others and some days are very good. If I'm watching a movie or playing video games it's much less active, if If something really has my attention then the feeling is much weaker to the point where it won't appear for a while. The mint from toothpaste will soothe my throat long enough for me to fall asleep however if I stay up for too long after brushing I'll have to re-brush to fall asleep without having a small bite of a biscuit. If I'm unwell it's usually worse, if I'm constipated or have indigestion then it's worse but if I'm very unwell, i.e. vomiting, then it's almost not there at all which always confused me.
In the past I brushed it off and said I'll deal with it later, out of fear I realise now. It's ruling too much of my life.
So back to my title question, are there any known methods for dealing with/curing a more severe form of globus?
Any information would be helpful, thank you.
Sincerely, Joseph.
