Can I please get a straight answer?

I'm taking a Benzodiazepine to treat a disorder I have. Information from a quick research show various results, some say up to 50 hours meaning 2 days+

I'm taking my med once a day on a regular basis. how long is it safe for me to drink alcohol?

Well sometimes the wife is upset when I tell her I can't drink, so If I stop the med for the weekend, let's say from Thursday, would it be safe to have a glass of wine on Saturday?

Never safe to drink alcohol while taking the med. If you are trying to figure out hours needed until med washes out in order to drink, I can help you. But what is the necessity to drink? Makes me worried about an alcohol use issue.

It's important that you don't stop taking medication so you can drink alcohol. If you have been taking the benzo for longer than 3 to 4 weeks, stopping the medication can cause withdrawal to occur.

Benzos stay in the system awhile. Drinking alcohol before it fully leaves your body leaves you vulnerable to all the same things as drinking while actively taking it. You may need to wait several days or even weeks before drinking. (why drink?)

Benzos fall into two categories, short acting and long acting. Which do you take? Short acting will stay in your system for a minimum of 5 days. Long acting benzos will stay in your system for up to 20 days.

Depending on the person, they leave the body at different speeds so should consult with your doctor.

I take klonopin 0.5mg tablet once a day.
I take klonapin too.  You can’t drink if you take benzodiazepines.  You can’t just stop the medication.  If you want to drink with your doctors help taper off the benzodiazepines.  That’s it in a nut shell.  Oh you probably won’t die but you could.  Yes you could die.  So if drinking is important to you please taper off benzodiazepines.
Sorry about your wife. None of the benzos work with weekend drinking, the wash out period is too short.
