Dry heaving related to anxiety/stress

I never really started dry heaving until after I started taking an antidepressant (Zoloft). I hated the medicine and I didn't think it helped me at all. I haven't been diagnosed with depression necessarily, but I went to a doctor who prescribed the medication so she must have thought something was wrong. I have anxiety and depression. I have passed out once (which I was told was due to dehydration, but I do not think it was. Yes, I do not drink as much water as is, but I had just woken up and was actually having a not so pleasant conversation with my mom) and had a panic when I was driving. What was weird about the panic attack was that I didn't feel the anxiety. I felt like I was on autopilot. I was still driving And was aware of my surroundings, but I was unable to respond. Both of these incidences were brushed aside, but I can't just ignore them. Anyway, back to the point. Ever since I started taking the Zoloft, I've been dry heaving. I would never actually vomit, but I would dry heave and I would get a wave of nausea right before. After I would dry heave a few times, it would be over and I wouldn't feel nauseous anymore. But it would happen several times throughout the day. Someone told me this was normal and not to worry about it, so I didn't. I still didn't like it. I took the Zoloft for about 3 months before I had had enough and stopped taking it. It didn't help my depression or anxiety anyway. However, I still dry heave on occasion and get waves of nausea. I think it may be stress/anxiety induced, but I'm not sure. I would dry heave without even doing anything or just sitting on a couch

I would also advise speaking to a therapist to help
address the anxiety and stress going on within your life.

I have an issue sometimes with dry heaving and nausea as well. Though I don't believe it's from the medication I take I know a lot of it is caused from anxiety and stress and dry heaving is a body's reaction to these pressures. The best thing to do is not to fight it and let it pass. Also, be conscious of the types of food you eat, take an anti acid from time to time if needed, and drink a lot of water.
