ive had spells of taking fat burners for over 10 years.
i dont touch them now as there has been a pattern of anxiety when taking these types of suppliments.
severe nerves and panic leading to hospital visits at night thinking im dying of heart failure due to sweats chest pain and random tingling in limbs.
all hospital visits keeping me in for observation and ecg and chest xrays ets everything fine.
also the last side effect from fat burners i had was a sore pressure in my left testicle. i thought i had testicular cancer but was found to be a slight varicocele that eventually subsided when stopping fat burners altogether.
maybey its just my genetics that dont agree with fat burners but there is defo an argument for these doing long term damage
More people have died from taking too much aspirin than ephedra. And that was normally due to heat exhaustion or not drinking enough water. Taken in low doses, it is one of the best diet aides around. too bad they banned it.
Ephedra has been banned by the FDA as a highly conservative precaution only until further testing results are available stating the true dangers of the drug. Recently, the FDA ban has been overturned, as some doses of Ephedra are now available legally.
Im doing some research on fat burners in general and was wondering how they effected anxiety sufferers who took them.
Thanks all who responded.
Also, a lot of the "fat burning" products contain stimulants such as caffeine which are known to increase anxiety!
Sorry about the typo.
The actual FDA statement was "Ephedra is dangerous at any DOSE."
Yes.
The FDA has taken the position that "Ephedra is dangerous at any does."
Ephedrine or Pseudoephidrine is a powerful stimulant.
There is no determined "safe" dose of Ephedra. It is dangerous and should be avoided at all times.
