Epi Pen for ANXIETY INDUCED SYNCOPE (fainting)?

Paramedic Jacksonville FL, co worker had a call recently where a patient claimed to have been perscribed an epi pen for anxiety induced sycope.  Patient says she is supposed to auto inject when she feels an episode coming.  Has anyone ever heard of such a thing?

I thought I heard it all...

I find this rather curious and hard to believe. Even if someone happened to passout from anxiety (which is quite rare), they would regain conciousness within seconds.

An epi pen is the last thing you would want to give to someone with anxiety. There is quite enough adrenaline already.
