HIGHER DOSE OF XANAX, SAME EFFECT?

Hi all, something very strange is happening to me, I've been taking xanax for my Anxiety Disorder prescribed by my doctor like a year ago, I was only taking .25 mg (half of a pill) daily by night before sleep. 2 days ago I wanted to try with a higher dose cause I think my body has developed tolerance to the substance, but the strange thing is that I took double, or even triple the dose and felt the same, or at least this is what it look to me. How could this be possible, I was thinking that maybe is like when your drunk, that once your drunk you don't feel the rest of the alcohol effects cause you're already numb.

Any opinions???

"The fact is that Xanax works very well indeed in treating panic disorder. Tolerance develops to the initial dose."

"I think that maybe paxil is blocking the relaxing effects of xanax. Could this be possible" No.

What do you mean by "muscular stress?"  One particular area?  Where?  There are many muscle relaxers, which I would be happy to share with you if you so desire.  However, you state that you have a "perfect fit" (I am assuming you are referring to your medication regimen), so not certain what you are asking, if anything.

Best wishes for continued health.

I take paxil too for the same thing, (Anxiety Disorder) but I take this at the beginning of the day while xanax I take it at the end of it. I think that maybe paxil is blocking the relaxing effects of xanax. Could this be possible? Cause a doctor told me that xanax was a very good muscle relaxant. I suffer besides (included in my anxiety) of muscular stress so this medication has fit perfect for all this symptoms included the panic attacks and anxiety.

Isn't supposed "the higher the dose, the higher the effect"???

The "feeling" will be the same, or no feeling at all, if you have developed a tolerance to the medication, which it sounds like you have.

Speak to your physician.  Perhaps he or she will try you on a different medication.

Yeah I know my dose, but I was just trying with a higher and the "feeling" is the same... is this normal?

I take klonopin and either I take 3 or 4 mg makes no difference. IDK why but talk to your doctor about it, don't increase on your own.
