How do i stop tensing my muscles?

Here are some notes:

- had this issue for almost 3 years now
- legs are constantly tense
- i sometimes catch myself consciously tensing them but other times i don't
- intense video games will make me tense my legs as well as anxious situations in real life. It's like a response i have when im scared. My legs feel soooooo tense and sore after a anxious situation.
- so sore that after playing a intense video game, when i get up from my chair its like i've done a marathon. they feel weak.
- this tension in the legs has made it hard to do any kind of physical work without getting overexercising symptoms
symptoms such as moodiness, anger for no reason.
- I'll walk up just 20-30 steps of stairs and get. these symptoms that will last a week or more. 20-30 steps walking up is nothing.
- i also look upset/have a stern face when im going through these leg issues. It causes facial tension
- like i look like a completely different person.
- magnesium seems to help i think.
- when im having these symptoms im drinking a LOT of water. And if i'm not constantly drinking water, i'll wake up dehydrated or just feel even worse.

Please let me know if there are some other reputable sites where i can ask this question and get some information. I've seen a few doctors and they are stumped.

Are you taking any medication?  If magnesium is helping, that means you are not taking in enough electrolytes, or, taking in too much calcium.  If you eat too much dairy, which is very high in calcium but deficient in magnesium, that can be a problem, as electrolytes are in balance with one another.  Green leafy vegetable are great sources of balanced calcium and magnesium.  It could also be a potassium problem.  It could also be a problem with being too sedentary -- sitting for long periods of time is very hard on the back and other parts of the body and can cause pinching of nerves.  Humans are animals and animals gotta move or everything becomes stagnant.  Do you exercise regularly?  Do you move around, or just sit around and play video games?  Do you stretch at all?  Also, tightness can be caused by stress and anxiety, and if you're really into winning when you play video games you might be tensing your leg muscles the whole time.  Some people get headaches from deep concentration, some get leg pain -- stretching and learning progressive relaxation might help.  Can't tell you what it is, but there are a lot of possible reasons.
