How to get the brand name Ativan without Prescirption Coverage?

Hello,

My wife just lost her Health Coverage with MNCare and she was forced to go to Medicare without Part D.

One of the medications she needs is Ativan, the Brand Name, not the Generic Name. She has been denied everything we have tried so far and we're on our last few attempt to find a way to pay for this one prescription. It cost $289.99 at CVS. Now I know we can use some sort of card that may take a few dollars off, but nothing like we need it to be. Our income limits are just above the guild lines for coverage.

What can we do??

Does anyone have any feedback that could help us pay for this drug?

As far as I know from my research, there is not PAP Programs for this drug.

Any recommendations or feedback would be really appreciated.

Thank You!

Oz

I also made to much for medicaid but there is a lot of programs out there that can help with little to no charge...if you are interested let me know and I will try to get you the info....I am on a plan now that on cost me 17.00 a year and all I have to pay is 2.30 for my rx's....course I am using generics so I am not sure about the brand name stuff....is there a reason she has to be on brand? let me know if you need the numbers and I will look them up for you and you can call....they may be different in your state but they should be able to direct you where to call when you call them ok...hope this helps

Ok, thanks for the feedback Sissypants. Yes, we're both on SS Disability but the income level is too high for the programs I have research so far. I know we can get all of her meds right from the Manufactures except for Ativan. I am just not having any luck finding anyone that will sell this with a prescription at a discount. CVS wants $289 for a months supply. We just cannot afford that...

I hope there are some others that may have run across this and found something.

Thanks, Oz

Is your wife on disability? or out of work because of her condition for the Ativan? if so there is programs that will help....I wouldnt think the cost would be that high unless its for more than a months supply....maybe you could get just a couple of weeks at a time, they let you do that if you dont have the money for all of it....Just ask them to give you as many as there payment at the lowest starts with....sometimes you can get more pills with there starting price and go from there....hope you will be able to get her the medications she needs.....
