Keep thinking about breathing!!

I wake up every morning and keep thinking about my breathing which makes me feel tight chested and like I can't take a deep breath which I feel like I need to do.. I'm fine when I'm sleeping as I'm not thinking about it but as soon as I wake up it's my first thought. It makes me feel very tired and drained just wondered if anyone else has experienced this and how they dealt with it ?? Thanks

No I'm not taking any medication because I'm trying to just sort it out without medication.. I'm going to see someone about it next week so hopefully they can help I'm hoping my mind just gets fed up of thinking about it and just goes back to normal because it makes me feel very week and tired

Yes, many of us that have anxiety either worry about our breathing or feel like we can't breathe. Since you breathe just fine while you're sleeping this is most likely anxiety. I'm sure you already know this. Have you tried deep breathing to see if that helps? Are you in therapy and or taking medication for your anxiety?
