Just wanted to re-post this list for anyone who needs it.  If anyone has anything they want added to the list, a book they're familiar with, website, anything....let me know!  The longer the list, the better.  Something for everyone!

Found a good website that explains how the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems  don't always work well.  If your sympathetic nervous system has a very low threshold of arousal, you will probably have a lot of stress and anxiety.  Go to the website Wisebrain.org.  I found it by googling parasympathetic nervous system arousal.  The article explains how meditation can bring the parasympathetic nervous system up to relax you.  Of course, this takes time and practice, in lieu of xanax.  But for people like us, for now, I am trying to avoid anything that is stressful but unnecessary until I am stronger.  I truly believe for many of us it is psysiological, the way we are wired, not because we are constant worriers and fretters.  Normal people do not seem to understand that you cannot just tell someone to relax and they will.
