Lamictal and intrusive thoughts

I had tried SSRI and they made me extremely anxious and I cannot take them. My doctor who thinks I have a mood disorder, but not bipolar thought that Lamictal would be a good choice. I have been taking it about 2 months now and I have been taking 100 mg since mid August.
For the last few days, my anxiety has started again with intrusive thoughts- songs (stuck in my head, worry that the anxiety will get worse, mind will not stop" This is annoying and scary. Has anyone heard of Lamictal doing this? I take no other pychiatric meds. I am thinking I should just stop this, and I don't see the shrink for another week...Should I taper off or can you just stop this drug? And it may not be the drug?
