Losing Control

I have come to the point that I think the anxiety has taken control of me.  I mean every little pain in my body or wierd feeling puts me into a total downward spiral.  I have had all the heart test all the cancer checks all the blood work and nothing.  Now I just freak out for everything.  I tried zoloft but it made me have more severe anxiety or panic attacks.  Now they are trying to work with prozac to help me out.  I was a normal person until I freaked out over a pain in my head a couple years back.  Now I am a walking anxiety attack waiting to happen.  Anyone know how I can beat this or even come close to controling it?  I seee doctors but they are military docs and really are there to fill a billet.  If anyone can provide some type of input I would greatly appreciate it.  I am opent o any suggestions at this point.  THanks

No doctor here. But if you suffer from anxiety, then make it clear that is all you suffer from. You made no mention of depression at all. That is my worry. That they are treating you for depression. Not anxiety. Hence the tablets making your anxiety worse. The tablets they have tried and are trying are for depression. To bring a person up. But as anxiety sufferer you are already up there. You need something to bring you down. To relax you. They are taking you higher. If you understand what I am saying. You need to be brought down. Anti-depressants are to bring you up. Anti-anxiety tablets are to bring you down. There's a big difference. Maybe you suffer from depression. Only you can tell us that. From your original post I am just basing my answer.

Been where you are lots & lots of times. Sometimes drugs will help, sometimes not. After amost 20 yrs of mental self torture I'm still here. Been in Psychiatric Hospitals several times ~ that gave quick relief, but it doesn't last ~ at least for me. My preent meds seem to be unhelpful & the side effects are yuk. My latest approach is to just try to 'ride it out' it ain't easy, but so far it's been working after an episode that would have formerly put me in hospital. Suggestion : Somehow develop hope that you will be well, stick with it & you'll improve. We are the only people that know how bad we can feel from what's happening in our heads ~ my belief now is that we must cure ourselves. When I've achieved that I'll certainly let everyone know how I did it. Good Luck. Stay active. Best wishes, am sure everyone that's got or had your condition wishes you well.
