Need help bad

My parents nor doctor believe me that I have anxiety. Yet I still feel like I do. Infact I'm nearly positive. Tonight I watched the oscars with family had fun some playful bets were made lots of fun. I just laid down for the night and my first thought was omg what do I do incase of zombies?!
Like wth. Nothing all day had anything to do with that subject but now I'm scared of every sound my house makes. I'm trembling like no bodys business. I'm having hot and cold flashes and feel like I'm going to vomit. Is there something I can do to help calm myself when this happens aside from medication? My doctor doesn't seem to think I have anxiety so doesn't want to give me any medications. So for now I have to figure out a way to do it on my own. Anything is helpful at this point. I'm desperate for some help.

Basically this is what happens. However the topic changes. Sometimes zombies sometimes nuclear hollocaust or 2012 happening. Recently though since the ads for battle Los Angeles it has turned to alien invasion.
I do know these are more or less irrational fears. It's all pop culture hype. But I have these thoughts more and more. Last night I was giving my boyfriend a back rub after work and I thought about what we would do if zombies suddenly attacked the house. My mind goes through so many scenarios. I've thought about what we will do about his dogs. His parents, us and birth control/pregnancy/children. All these things

Perhaps you found the above advice lacking...................but I sure as hell didn't see you offering anything better.
If all you can contribute is criticism, go somewhere else.

Have you been under a lot of stress lately?  In my experience with anxiety, I would always question the doctors when they thought I had anxiety....remember, we can feel absolutely horrible both physically and mentally when we are under stress.  Why not go see someone for some counseling if you can?   Sometimes just sitting down and talking through your fears with someone can help you overcome them, in my opinion.

Is this your only problem when it comes to anxiety?  If so, then it may just be an irrational fear, and if you can beat it without medication, you're better off.  Try leaving a light on and  reading, watch TV, or listen to music to fall asleep.  Just lying there awake gives you too much time to think about this. Try to rationalize your fear.......zombies don't exist......all you have to fear.......is fear itself, deep breathing exercises, (slow deep breaths in thru your nose and slowly out your mouth) etc.  You want to nip this in the bud or it can escalate and you don't want that to happen.  If you feel there is more to this, see a psychiatrist for an evaluation and go from there. Even if it turns out to be anxiety, work thru this with your psychiatrist if medication is needed, and have him refer you to the proper therapist. You're certainly not alone and we're always here to do whatever we can.  Take care.
