**New here and NOT feeling so well**

Hi everyone! I am new here and hope someone can help :)

I have been on Zoloft for at least 5 years, current dose is 75mg/day.  My life recently became stressful and chaotic and I have not taken my Zoloft in at least a week. So.. I am wondering if there is a correlation between the abrupt stopping of the Zoloft and the symptoms I have developed over the last few days, that seem to be worsening by the day. I have been experiencing dizziness/faintness, tingling in my hands, and just an allover feeling of being dazed and confused basically! I just took my Zoloft about 5 minutes ago when it dawned on me that could be the reason I was developing these symptoms. I thought maybe it was just exhaustion or dehydration.

Has anyone else experiences dizziness and/or faintness and tingling hands/fingers as a withdrawal symptom from Zoloft?? Or are there any experts out there that can help me put my mind at ease? Obviously I have anxiety or I wouldn't be taking Zoloft.. Lol.. and I'm a total worry wart and scared! I was about to haul off to the E.R. if this doesn't get better!

THANKS a TON!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Taper yourself off Zoloft, if you must discontinue. Never abruptly discontinue dosage it can lead to some severe serious side effects. This goes for almost all anti-deppressants that i know of.

(Certified Pharmacy Technician) and have been on antideppressants since the mid 90's.

Thank you all so much! 2 hours later I'm feeling much better. WOW! I guess I need a better reminder system ;)

libour9... you switched to Cymbalta? Do you like it better? I notice sometimes I do get kinda sleepy after taking Zoloft.. I have been taking it at night because of that.

Yeah, i am not on Zoloft but have been on it, but i am now on Cymbalta and if i miss a day I get straight up sick. Zoloft made me tiredand zone out and weak, faint nauseated on the med but any antidepressant says on the patient info sheet don't stp taking suddenly without consulting a physician. I too have bee stressed out before and have forgotton to take my meds and they reminded me to take them again......lol I hope taking it againhelps you, if it dont and you still feel this waay, i would call my dr

Well it is not a medication I am on. But it is one you should never just stop taken. You have been on it a long time. So, yes, is the answer to question about is it the sudden stopping of your medication. It would do all those things to you. There is a right and a wrong way to come off medication. You done it the wrong way. The body, at times, still needs what is in the medication. Even if we feel we don't need it. To come it you do so over time. Have a word with your doctor and get your situation sorted out. I would take the medication ( if you any left ), and let your doctor work out the right way to get you off it. We are no experts. Just people who have taken medication ourselves. And it is nearly all the same. Never just stop taken the medication. It will do you more harm than good.
