Body Numbness/Dullness

Has anyone else experienced a kind of whole body dullness, or numbness from anxiety?  On March 3rd, I kind of had a nervous breakdown of anxiety - I was convinced I had a back problem, and I got a tingling pain in that area, and I just kind of felt my whole body go numb - completely.  The best way to describe it, I guess, was like a panic attack, but for my nervous system (rather than cardiovascular system like they usually are).  I couldn't even feel others touching me.  About 20 minutes later, some of it returned.  Several hours later, more came back.

In between, I was admitted to the hospital for the back problem.  They did an MRI on all parts of my back, and my brain and they did a spinal tap.  Said I don't have any significant issue, and don't have MS.

Yet, I still have this "dullness"... the other day, I stubbed my toe and didn't even feel it.  I also seem to have less ability to taste, and lowered sensation of pin *****.  It still hurts, and I can still feel things and sense temperature, etc.  But everything just feels somehow... not normal.

Has anyone else had this... and how do I get RID of it, given that I know/accept it is from either anxiety and/or hypochondria?

Thanks!

Thanks for the reply!

I went to my chiro in February... he did not find any issues, but did several regular adjustments, but it didn't help my problem at all.  :(

Thanks for the reply!

No, I haven't... I can't afford to go to one, because my insurance doesn't cover anything to do with mental health.

I know I have anxiety, as I have had several panic attacks... and the last one (2008) was a result of my sister almost dying, which I believe is when hypochondria-like things started.

Anyway, thanks for your input!

Hi,
Have you checked in with a psychiatrist?  These issues could very well be anxiety in one of its many manifestations.

You have the results of tests which rule out organic causes for this dullness/numbness...so next thing to address is anxiety.

Hope you will do this soon.

Best...
