Problems Yawning

Hello all, I have something a little weird and embarrassing to share. Since June of 2014, I have had a problem yawning. Whenever I feel a yawn coming on, I open my mouth, and when I reach the peak of my yawn, it suddenly goes away leaving me unsatisfied. Then, this happens about every 10 seconds until something comes around to get my mind off of it. This has been happening since June. This is the main problem, but since around then as well, I have some kind of post nasal drip issue going on. I am constantly swallowing and aways feel the urge to cough due to constant tickles in the back of my throat, probably caused by the excess mucus.
All of these problems are really really frustrating and they are interfering with my daily life. My grades are taking a hit, and even my parents have noticed a personality change. I am too embarrassed to bring this up to my parents because they won't understand how it really feels. The yawning thing is the worst, and they just couldn't understand. I am worried because when I searched the yawning problem on the internet, I noticed other people were experiencing the same problems, but no one knew what the cause was. Everyone just says that it's anxiety and all in their heads, but I am the least stressed person in the world, well at least until this came about. I am really concerned that this will be with me forever, and if this happens, then I don't know what i am going to do with my life. What could this be? What can I do to stop all of it? What do these symptoms all have in common? ANYTHING WILL HELP, SOMEONE PLEASE ANSWER WITH ANY ADVICE.

I have had this a few times but I think it was because I was thinking about it all the time , my husband always links it to not being able to fully inflate his lungs so the end of the yawn is cut short, the strange thing is when this happens to him he ***** on a rennies tablet for indigestion then he can take a deep yawn, don't know if this works or if it's psychological , try it and tell me if it works for you or if it's in his mind lol

Do you drink coffee or other forms of caffeine?  I get the same thing, with heart palpitations too.  Reducing my caffeine intake (and I mean down to hardly any - ever) has helped.
Give it a try.

I don't know what it could be.. I wish I could shed some light on it for you. I am currently dealing with breathing problems stemming from anxiety and thinking too much about it. I know anxiety causes many physical symptoms. I would discuss this with a doctor and your family for support. You might be so focused on it that it won't go away. I say that I should follow my own advice.
