Sertraline increase

Hi there, I have been on Zoloft about 2-2.5 months. I slowly worked my way up to 50 mg, starting at 12.5mg, then moving to 25, then 37.5, and finally I've been at 50 mg for about two weeks now. My sweet spot seemed to be between 25-37.5 mgs--I was feeling pretty good at the time-- but my psych thought 50 would be best for my PDD+anxiety. I have not been feeling well since moving to 50; it's hard to describe, but almost feels like I'm over-caffeinated but with no energy, and I don't really want to leave the house. I

I have also had a pretty bad cold the last few weeks, so I'm not sure if it's just the illness impacting me, if I'm still adjusting to the higher dose, or if 50 mg is just too high for me (I'm fairly small and pretty sensitive to medication). Any words of wisdom? How long does it usually take to adjust to a higher dose, if you move up gradually like I did?

The general answer is, increases take as long as beginning a drug to work.  But individuals vary, so for you we can't say.  If you continue to have problems, I'd ask your psychiatrist to go back to the dose that felt good for you and see what happens.
