I find that when I become aware that I can't quite catch my breath, I take a few minutes and I focus on relaxing my shoulders (as usually find they are raised to my ears!) and then focus on my chest and imagine it expanding, giving my lungs more room, and then do a few rounds of abdominal/belly breathing - it works. The more you practice this the easier it is and you will end up doing it automatically. Yoga helped me a lot with this - maybe join a local class, one that concentrates on the relaxing aspects of yoga.
are you on antibiotics cause antibiotics can do that to you
Breathe slowly expanded your stomach as you breathe in. You are doing shallow breathing and your chest muscles are tensed up so it feels as though you can't get enough air.
I had a heart attack 2 1/2 yrs ago and my mom passed away 6 months after the actual heart attack. she was 66 and i was 46 I suffered a major panic attack while at home that scared my husband to death and me too. Between the fear of dropping over dead and my mom dying so young, i had a melt down.
It's been 1 1/2 since then, and I still have the anxiety attacks. Not as bad as the first one, but still have them. my symptoms are mainly shortness of breath and the feeling that i am gearing up for another heart attack. the shortness of breath is scary and hard to deal with. I went ot the doctor and now have xanax .25 (smallest dose). it's only good for 4 hours at a time, but it takes the edge off the panic and stops that not feeling like i can't breathe. Big deep breaths from the stomach (don't let your shoulders move up and down) help too.
hiya yeah i have this its a very common anxiety symptom, just try not to focus on your breathing it will pass
