Sleep Panic

I'm 42 years old and have had panic disorder since age 16. I've been agoraphobic for the past 12 years. I'm trying to stop smoking and on the days I don't smoke I get restless leg syndrome and nighttime panic attacks ( waking about 20 min after I fall asleep feeling disoriented w/ rapid heart beat and a feeling of pure doom.) Has anyone been through something similar?

I am pretty certain i have restless leg syndrome because i wake up from it, i actually would wake up with both my legs a few inches up from the bed. I hate that, i used to be a smoker but quit 5 years ago. i used to wake up with panic, sometimes i dream i am having one and the sensations felt real to me when i woke up. I have woke from having a panic attack and wow i hate those, my heart pounding and feeling like i was gonna die, yes the doom feeling. but i am still kicking, and ironically my feet does too at night! lol
good luck. that does happen to some. like me.
