Sleep Walking and Anxiety

For the last couple of years I have been sleep walking. I have done it time from time as a kid, but lately it's starting to scare me a little. I am sleeping on a loft bed right now, and the other night i literally jumped from it in my sleep and landed on my feet and woke up. It was the most insane thing I've done in my sleep. Last night I walked down my ladder and started talking to my roommate. The weird thing is though I remember when i sleep walk.

My anxiety normally has it's ups and downs, and i believe I sleep walk more when I'm having anxiety.
I
t's starting to worry me. I also think it may have to do with eating sugars before bed. Can anyone help me figure this out here?

Medications can cause sleepwalking in some people as well, so that might be an issue. In any event, Ruby is right -- you'd best see someone before you hurt yourself. And you'll rest better too.

Please see your doctor and discuss this with him/her as soon as possible. The fact that you jumped from your sleeping loft should give you all the motivation you need.

I'm sorry to say that I don't really know much about sleepwalking or if anxiety can trigger an episode,  but I'm guessing the two could be related. Perhaps someone else on this forum has had similar experiences and shed a better light on this for you.

But I hold fast to my advice that this needs to be brought to the attention of your doctor who can order a sleep study and help you with your anxiety issues.

Please do this before you harm yourself seriously.

I wish you the best
