Sleep disorder serious adrenaline

I've been having this issue on and off for a very long time. I'm only 20 but I was diagnosed with clinical depression and then bipolar just over 12 months ago.
At night, I literally don't sleep. Some nights I will sleep for maybe 4 hours but I will not fall asleep till at least 3am if not later. Other nights I'm up for easily 24-48 hours straight.
During this time I have constant adrenaline running through me, so much so that it eventually starts to make me feel sick. My stomach is turning because I'm so hyped up for no reason and it doesn't ease throughout the night, if anything it gets worst.  when I am experiancing this, I don't feel tired either, it's like my body is starting to get tired but my mind is running miles. It's a horrible horrible feeling, i get serious hot flushes, cold shakes, shakey hands/body and heart palpitations that I can't control or calm down and I have no idea what to do or what could be causing the problem? Has anyone else suffered with this issue or anything similar?? I'm at my wits end.

I'm curious why you think adrenaline is running through you?  Did someone test you for that?  Just because you're feeling anxious doesn't mean you have adrenaline running through you, though you could.  I'm also curious about the bipolar diagnosis -- you don't describe a bipolar condition.  What kind of treatment are you receiving for what sounds like a bad anxiety problem?

I was diagnosed about 12 months ago, originally I was prescribed citilopram and then changed after several months and given lithium.
I'm not 100% what it is, but that's what it feels like. I don't have anything to necessarily be anxious over so I don't know. My point wasn't to bring up anything with bipolar it was more the case of I didn't know if that could be a contributing factor or not... I've not been tested for the adrenaline but it was just a way of describing it
It sounds like anxiety is a problem as paxiled said. Not testing for adrenaline is self diagnosis, which is usually wrong when anxiety is concerned because its constant in your face irritation gets its victims so frazzled that their body sort of plays tricks on itself. Many people have gone to ER thinking they have a heart attack but find there is nothing wrong but anxiety.
