Yes, I believe it helps in the long term.  I can never exercise when I'm in the moment having anxiety, but I run about 4 miles 4-5 times a week (when I'm not feeling anxious) and I noticed it brought my general levels of anxiety down a bit after some time.

Yes and no.  It helped my organs stay healthy, but it didn't get rid of the anxiety disorder.  It did help with it, but I still got panic attacks.  But I was much worse without exercise, as I've always been active.  I must say, though, as I've aged, I've got a lot of injuries, which makes it harder to function, so don't underdo it and don't overdo it, either.

Walking can be made more interesting and more beneficial if you add some other extra exercise. add pranayam(whichever is convenient. walk on outside edge of soles of feet. walk on inside edge of the soles( like charlie chaplin) walk on heels and walk on balls of your feet. One can walk backward. In backward walking different muscles are used. Forward and backward walking makes perfect exercise.I think we can find some more variants .

As per some report, walking 10 minutes 3 times a day is equivalent to 30 minutes  a day.

Exercise is excellent for anxiety.  It takes your mind off things, and releases energy that you might otherwise waste on just being nervous.  And exercise is good for you anyway. :-) - Blu  PS: don't forget the apple a day, lol!
