Switching Meds

Hi all. I am hoping for a response on this site because I have posted here before with great results. Here goes. I took Lexapro for years and really experienced no problems. About 6 months ago, because of insurance reasons, I had to switch to Citlapram, sorry I know its misspelled. After always feeling tired and hungry, my doctor switched me to generic prozac 5 days ago. I had no problems until today, when I was driving and my stomach hurt bad to the point of diarrea, misspelled again. Anyway, I got pretty anxious. I was wondering if I am just now having a reaction to the med change, like a withdrawal or something,  or a case of the stomach flu. I think the anxiety was maybe from being in the middle of nowhere and not getting sick. I came home and took a nap and feel ok, but, as usual, I am very worried. Can anyone help me out here?? I was also taking an antibotic for something unreleated, and was wondering if that was a player too. It is notrious for stomach problems. Anyway, any help to ease my mind would be great. Thanks.

You can switch these meds without problems but your body needs to get used to the new med prozac youre taking, its very normal to in the first few weeks have side effects like diarhea, this almost always passes so just hang in there! The anti biotic could have effected it too yes and the anxiety you where feeling. I'd give it a few days just in case it's the antibiotics or a tummy bug.  5 days is a short time and you could be having a little adjusment problem, but I'd still give it a few days.  If nothing changes see what the doc thinks.
