Hallucinations constantly now. Please help

This is freaky. I've been getting hallucinations since yesterday evening. I heard that can be a symptom of a life threatening thing. I've also heard this is a symptom of psychotic depression , schizophrenia , brain injuries. It's also related to seizures to! The least important or serious reason is yes you know this everyone knows this...sleep depravation!!! I'm scared as it won't let up and I don't know what catagory I fall into. I sure hope it's not the undetected serious illness one either. Also seizures! When it happens my muscles start quivering/pulling tight and spasming like I'm shivering but i'm not cold. Could this be why my abdomin and stomach hurt so much as well as my back? Am I having mini seizures? I can't sleep but I really need to but last night when I was trying to sleep this was happening but then kept feeling like I would die in my sleep due to stopping breathing

Hi I saw this post and I'm talking to you on the other post.  I think you should see a neurologist too then. What are your "seizures" like?  Do you have anyone in your home with you that sees how you react? if not it would be good if a friend or family member could be around to see if you respond to them if they talk to you when this happens. That is one sign of a seizure is when you don't/can't respond. I think you need to get an EEG done. It could be also an migriane like episode. I have been through a lot with a migraine variant . In my 20's I didn't have any migraine headache but had the shakes, and felt cold followed by stomach pain and throwing up all night. This turned out after many doctors appointments to be EEG positive for a migraine/seizure pattern. I have migraines now which developed in my 30's. So, it would good in addition to the GI doc (since you have the floating stools) to also get a variety of things done if you can. The neurologist can determine if it sounds like a seizure or migraine variant . You could get an MRI to rule out things and see an opthamologist. Did you ever get hit in the head? I do think anxiety does cause some symptoms such as shaking and so forth but you have to find out. Do you feel like you are dying when these shakes happen? That is common with panic attacks. But the visuals could be several things. So, you need to start with the GI doc followed by a neurologist then see see what they say and proceed from there to the Eye doc if they don't get anywhere.  I couldn't get diagnosed for years so I sent myself to a psychiatrist thinking I was crazy and since the neurologist said she thought it was probably migraine and did the EEg on me the psychiatrist followed that up and asked a bunch of quesitons over a few weeks and it was a migraine variant. So, they are good docs too even though they scare people or when someone says see a shrink you think they are dismissing you (sometimes they are) but I think they are excellent with pain meds and other meds and symptoms because they acutally give you more than 5 minutes and get to see what is really going on. The guy saved my life by giving me an antiseizure drug (though I can never get off of it) but it worked and I only have one episode since then in almost 30 years. So, keep an open mind and keep me posted .  I'll talk to you either on this site or both sites.
bye,

THanks for your support too. My back problem has been hard to deal with since i"m not independant right now. Anyway, glad they got the CT ordered and no it doesn't mean they found anything just that they got approval. I hope it helps.

Oh no, i'm so sorry to hear about your back problems. That is awful and you are now in my prayers to get healed. :) Yes I see what you mean by how it makes you feel better to help others in need. That is awesome of you and all the others on this site and believe that every time you help someone it only lines up more good things to happen to you in return. :) Hey sorry to ask more questions and stuff but would you be so kind to give me insight on this? I went to the Dr. with the severe stomach/abdominal pain and he did bloodwork and I asked for a CT scan he told me they only authorize it if they believe it needs to be done. So no word about the bloodwork all this time then they called leaving me a message that the CT scan was authorized. Oh my gosh i'm so scared...did they find something? I always heard no news was good news but i'm not to sure about this now. =/ On the other stuff you wrote. It makes sense and I believe you are right that it was just the anxiety causing the muscle tension and there was no seizure. Yes i've heard buspar can cause hallucinations. I'm going to see about getting switched to something else asap. Thank you so much and have a great night. I hope your back gets better.

You are quite welcome. I'm very glad to help. It makes my day when I feel like I helped someone as I'm not able to do much due to back problems and so I'm stuck here most of the time. Well, your anxiety may be causing the muscles tensing up and feeling like you are going to die. If you are aware during the shakes then it probably isn't a seizure. However, they do have petit mal seizures and so forth. The Busbar sounds like it is causing depression and bad thoughts as well as maybe the hallucinations. Different people act differently to drugs. So they really have to try different ones until you get the right one. I hope things work out for you.

Yes,agreed seems you are right again. It's getting to me very badly and clouding my thinking for sure. Do you think once the anxiety subsides from something stronger that the scary and negative thinking should as well?
"If you DID end up finding out you have a medical condition (which I really doubt), then you deal with it and move on." This is true..my grandma was diagnosed with cervical cancer when she was younger and it did almost kill her but they got it and she ended up living till she was 66!!! :) :) :) Yes, I have an appointment on Monday. I want to ask him about atavan. He won't give me xanax. =/ Oh my gosh, Haha (laughing with utmost realization) you are sooo right about this to! "You need to stop searching the internet.  It is literally the WORST thing you could be doing at this point.  Also, it serves no purpose.  You're not going to figure this out, IF you had a medical condition, you need a doctor to do that, and you've been thoroughly examined a few times.  If there was something big and bad going on, they would have found it by now. " You nailed it....it seems like google can help me but at the same time a million and a half symptoms could be the same with other things and it seems all it does is pull up any and all serious illnesses first and take the other more likely less serious conditions out of the picture! Then you're like oh my gosh i've got this or that! Then the poor Dr. checks for this or that or that and this then it comes back negative. Do you think that this could be creating more anxiety and that anxiety can create psychosomatic results? Like it makes what you read on google seem to be real and that that specific part of your body hurts because your subconcious fear is making it hurt by thinking it's real? I agree with you....It seems like the hallucinations began to ease up if not go away after getting sleep last night. Tonight it was just the abdominal shooting pains and stomach pains but no hallucinating. Thank you and again you and your answer is as awesome as always. Yes i'm spending WAY to much time on the computer.( mainly this site) as helpful as it is I must say it allows me to continue at the least dwelling on these issues. I have found it to be very helpful though and have found so much more peace with this site I have actually fallen asleep with my lap top next to me. Is this sad to say this is becoming one of my only sources of peace if not my main one? Nursegirl....I am so sorry but I need some advice on another solution....and this problem is greatly effecting me and my anxiety. I have a daughter of 8 months and I left my ex gf because I wasn't happy with her and she has been an ongoing creator of drama and anxiety since before I even left her which is why i did leave her. Anyhow even being away from her..her and her family are continuing to fuel my anxiety by verbally attacking me in one way or another. Her cousin actually told me she was going to have her boyfriend come after me and kill me and to watch my back. It saddens me to leave my daughter but do you think discontinuing contact altogether with them that it would be the best thing to do if they aren't going to allow me to get better by this crap they are putting me through and with the death threats?

Hated by God?  You must have a different God than the one I'm familiar with.  God doesn't hate people, and diseases aren't some kind of punishment.  If you DID end up finding out you have a medical condition (which I really doubt), then you deal with it and move on.  Disease aren't a way for God to kill people he wants dead.  I think you know that, you're just not thinking logically.

Your depression and anxiety is clouding your thinking.  I'm glad you have an appt with your p-doc on Monday.  I wouldn't wait much longer than that, you need to start addressing this stuff right away.

You need to stop searching the internet.  It is literally the WORST thing you could be doing at this point.  Also, it serves no purpose.  You're not going to figure this out, IF you had a medical condition, you need a doctor to do that, and you've been thoroughly examined a few times.  If there was something big and bad going on, they would have found it by now.  All goggling does is fuel your anxiety.  That would be like a person with a deathly phobia of snakes throwing themselves into a snake pit day after day.  Doesn't make much sense, does it?

The "hallucinations" sound like symptoms of sleep deprivation.  And, nothing you describe sound like seizures.  I think the best thing you could do for yourself is to FORCE yourself to walk away from the computer.  Set a goal...24 hours, or more.  Keep yourself busy with other activties.  The more you sit and worry, the more overly focused you will be on every sensation you have, and that turns into over dramatizing those symptoms in your head.  It's all part of the anxiety cycle.

You definitely need a new medication regimen. My suggestion would be to ask your p-doc about an SSRI (Zoloft, Lexapro, etc) along with a short term course of an anxiolytic. like Xanax or Ativan, to help control your anxious symptoms while you wait for the SSRI to do its thing.  An SSRI would also be indicated due to the depression you seem to have (which is typical in anxious people, depression usually shows up at some point along the way).  Your doc will be the one to give you recommendations, but in my experience, that combo works well for people (myself included).

It goes without saying, if you ever get the urge to harm yourself, seek help immediately.  That is never the answer.

Hey there nursegirl6572. I'm seeing "square shaped objects" and "flashes of blue light" as well as "weird animal or people shaped silhouettes" in my peripheral vision and this has been pretty much constant and not let up for about 2 days now. I must add my main concern is this stomach and abdominal pain though. I'm getting shooting pains in my intestines as well as on and off bad stomach pains and feeling full even when I haven't eaten anything. My muscles hurt all over my body. So I'm gonna try and take care of this first and get a referral to a GI. So yes about my psychiatrist i'm already on it to ,but unfortunately he's a half hour away and my rides are limited as I have quit driving due to how bad this anxiety is so I have another appointment on Monday with my therapist so I will schedule it for the same day I got to see her. =/ Geese ,you got that right i'm suffering badly and i'm so tired of living in pain and fear..this is no quality of life.I just want to be happy again but I'm just being honest but thinking if it turns out I am sick... that I really am just that forsaken or hated by god; I'm not going to allow myself to suffer with it. I'm the exact opposite of a suicidal person obviously but that will probably be the one exception if i'm that doomed i'd rather do it my way then suffer plus he obviously wanted me dead anyway and didn't love me or answer my prayers. Sorry to have branched off into a rant...just scared and depressed...as i'm still hurting all over writing this at this moment. The pain actually shoots down my whole abdomen from the top, it's everywhere. :(:(:(:( Thank you for reading and replying. It means alot to me as always I hope you are doing well. Thank you greatly for taking the time to write. Hey one more thing this is weird along with everything that is going on with my pain i'm very emotional and i've noticed I'm getting these surges of emotion like i'm going to cry and my throat feels like it is going to close up. Same if I feel like I might be going to be happy my throat seems to tighten up and get this surge of emotion...yet no emotion ends up coming...it's just weird and thought maybe to share that to. Thank you! :):):)

Thank you very much from the bottom of my heart. Your help means alot to me and shows there are always good people out there who don't like to see even strangers suffer from such hellish things. God bless. I have to admit I do not think or now if they are seizures for sure because I'm conscious while this is happening. It's just like my whole abdomen tenses up and my muscles are hurting even to my back. It was scary and I kept hallucinating and feeling like I would die or black out but I finally got some sleep today. I have to say I feel a little better but woke up struggling to breathe again which was scary and have ALOT of soreness on my side and back. Yes the stomach pain is weird it comes and goes and is scary. I'm so depressed, scared and frustrated that the E.R. could NOT diagnose the stomach pain. The pain let up while I was in the E.R. but again they couldn't diagnose it and the pain has returned today...again with more shooting pains in my intestines and bad stomach pain. Thank you for all of your advice. I will definitely see about getting into a G.I. and I am already on my psychiatrist for changing my meds asap. I read that Buspar (the anti anxiety med i'm on) can cause hallucinations and seizures! It's not helping me in any way and i'm off this crap. I know I need medicated but i'm so discouraged with my psychiatrist putting me on meds that are making me worse. I don't know what to do about him or this physical pain anymore...i'm so scared that it's something serious and i'm only 26 and not ready to die and i'm afraid i'll never make it to be apart of my 8 month old daughters life or make it or see what happens with my future. :(:(:(

I forgot to mention that usually people who are having seizures aren't aware they are having them and have no memory of them.  That's definitely true for more serious seizures, like grand mal.

So, again, don't panic just yet.  Sounds to me like you are jumping to conclusions.  It never hurts to get checked out, although I'm pretty sure you have been to the ER several times.

Did you make any calls today to look into ramping up your anxiety treatment?  I'd hate to see you put that off another day, you really are suffering bad, and need to start addressing this a little more in depth.

What kind of hallucinations?  You need to be a little more clear.  When was the last time you've slept, and how long did you sleep?

Don't get ahead of yourself.  Certainly, if you think you are having seizures, you need to go to the ER, but I wouldn't be surprised if this is not all anxiety related, as the rest of your symptoms have been.

Please share more information.
