Why does my face turn red & hot when speaking to others?

Hi.  This just recently started happening to me.   When I am with a group of friends, and one of them asks me a question or directs the attention to me, my face automatically turns red and feels hot.  I start acting like something's in my eye, or that I need to couch, etc.  I then lose my train of thought as to what I'm saying because I'm sure everyone can see that my face is red.   I cannot figure out why I feel so embarrassed.  I've never been this way before.  I could see if I've always been this way, but I haven't.  I guess I just need more confidence when I speak, but HOW can I get that?   WHY would I feel embarrassed when I'm just talking with friends or coworkers??   Thank you.

Some people blush.  It's just what they do.  It might be nothing more than that.  Worrying about it this much, though, isn't any fun and talking to a professional might help.

It sounds like social anxiety. Talking to a professional may help because they can teach you tools to combat it.

Your other thread said you are over-thinking things now, so likely this issue is related.
