Xanax withdrawl?

I took 3-4 mg of Xanax everyday for 8 days. Higher dose I know, but only 8 days. Will I run into major wd symptoms?

So yesterday I took the .75 and stopped. That was around noon. Had trouble sleeping last night, weird dreams when I did, and woke up with a headache. Feel okay today but I have ocd and I keep searching the web, reading horror stories that I think I'm obsessing in this rather than anything else. Can I be god mod to go, or is something going to pop up in a day or two?  Thanks.

I think tapering off is a good idea even though RubyWitch is right in the vast majority of cases.  But it never hurts to play it safe.  These drugs don't have general rules, unfortunately, as to time frames -- each of us reacts differently as our nervous systems and metabolism of drugs differ.  Because benzos also act as anti-seizure meds, there's also that to consider.  But given the short time you were on this drug, as Ruby says, you're probably in no danger of having a hard time.

No. You were not on Xanax long enough to worry about wd. The most you may experience, and I doubt you'll even have this, would be a mild headache the first day you stop. Drink plenty of water to flush it out of your system. You'll be fine.

Thanks for responding! What is the timeframe for taking it and having to deal with wd? I also just cut it down to 1.5 a day and then will go .75 for a day or two and then stop.
