hi, i just wanted to tell you that i had very similar symptoms two years ago. people, friends and family didnt understand that i didnt want to leave the house or i had to get out then once out couldnt stand it (supermarkets were the worst). nobody understood all the strange feelings and worries and confusion that i had they tried to help and couldnt until one night my entire brain went cold and i just lost my mind (literally) i went into a state referred to as psychosis, i left my life behind and went to stay with my mum but i wasnt me anymore i got violent, saw people who wernt there wanted to be naked all the time couldnt go to the toilet on my own (i was 20!) screamed for hours on end for no reason other than frustration. my mum, after 6 days with no sleep and having had to physically fight me decided to call in some help i was assessed and sectioned for almost a month. im not trying to say that this will be you or trying to scare you but if you feel at any time like you cant cope your overwhelmed or you have thoughts that scare you remember to breath! its so important to take slow deep breaths to center yourself and calm yourself down. also theres a very good book you should read i know it sounds ridiculous but its actually a self help book by Louise L Hay called how to heal your life i came accross it too late but in my opinion anxiety or mental health issues  of any kind arnt just medical issues they are personal and stem from doubt mostly about yourself, and as for the memory loss stuff, i entirely empathise but fear not its only temporary its just because you are thinking so much that you can barely keep anything else in unfortunatly that one still gets me when ive got alot going on. but my biggest piece of advise would be to write down everything you are feeling and thinking keep like a diary of it, and if you feel upto it head back down to the docs or better yet try for a councillor (not nice i know) but they are the only ones in this situation who KNOW what to do as anyone who has not felt like this or been trained to know how this is affecting you cannot help! i really hope you feel better soon and that somehow this has either given you comfort or at the very least let you know that there is an answer. everyone one has given you some great advice,
its up to you what to do with it.
good luck x

jon--Do you wear glasses/contacts? If so, try putting on glasses for a few days.  I have devolped a hatred for my contacts.  I rarely wear them anymore unless its to pay sports or jog.  They enhance my anxiety for some reason.

bbycrissy gave you good advice.  Tell yourself this isn't really going to make any difference in a few hours, and try to occupy yourself with something.  Have you been to an ophthalmologist?  It sounds like ocular migraine headache to me.  Strangely, although I've had them probably well over a hundred times, I've only had actual pain in my head at the same time on one occasion.  But the fear that accompanies all these strange sensations!  Something else, aren't they?!  I get the floaters; a funny feeling in my chest; either a dry mouth or a super extra amount of saliva, as though I might vomit (never a normal amount of saliva; cold fingertips with a kazillion little pinpricks that don't hurt; grayish fingernails and sometimes lips; rapid breathing; shallow breathing; breathlessness; a little bit dizzy (feeling that things are moving, even though I'm sitting down); sometimes coldness and pinprick sensation on my forehead and chin---symptoms of hyperventilating.  I came very close to passing out the first about three times.  Strangely, I've always been sitting when this has occurred, but when at work, I sometimes have to get up in the course of my work, and discovered that I can, it's simply strange.  When it occurs when I'm driving, I immediately pull out of traffic, put my head back, close my eyes, and have found out humming or singing seems to help.  When at home, I take an aspirin, lie down with something dark over my eyes and try to sleep it off.  Always works. If awake, the eye disturbance lasts from 1 1/2 to 4 hrs, and all the other symptoms are less now when the eye problem---the ocular migraine---begins.  I believe that the strangeness of the eye problem signals my whole body to super alert to an anxiety attack.  I have also discovered that plain old aspirin alleviates all the symptoms sooner.  I read in an alternative health newsletter written by an MD that the body needs more water.  I also read that mega vits and mins help, particularly mega B vitamins and C, so I really chow down on them, most of the time.  And every time I have another ocular migraine, or the floaters without the migraine, I realize that my water and vit B consumption has dropped again.  If I'm faithful about high water, vits, and mins, I don't get them.  I believe that all the symptoms, except those in the eyes, were a result of my fear of not knowing what was happening---the fight or flight mechanism on super alert resulting in an anxiety attack along with the ocular migraine.  Drinking water and eating a little protein seem to help me if I'm at work and can't lie down.  You need to see an opthalmologist about the eye problems to be sure what your're dealing with, and not just assume that you have the ocular migraines, because you could have a physical problem needing attention.  I know about half a dozen others with the o m problem, and none of us take med for it.  Hope some of this info helps you.  Do make that appt.  Good luck.

trust me your nawt alone with this!
ive only had anxiety/panic attacks for about 3 monthes now
yet ive been through all the horrible symptoms
de-realization, numbness in the limbs, upset stomach, tightness in the head, memory loss, depression vision being funny etc.
so i know what you are going through
at times im looking at the tv and randonly see a bright flash of light its hard to explain
anyhow
i also see black things that come outta nowhere
these are called "floaters" its normal its just little pieces of dead skin that tends to be absorbed by your eye ball.
its not harmfull. as far as the feeling light all over i also get that from time to time

its just anuther anxiety symptom that comes and goes
what i do is i get on the phone with sumbody or do my hobbie
basically anything that keeps my mind busy.
mind over matter.
try to focus on the things that make you feel happy
and also focus on the idea of recovering
trust me thatll get you through a tough day
