The diagnosis may say that your anxiety can be treated with any of many types of therapy, which would be yours to choose from. Or the doc may believe you need meds plus therapy. You can do some therapy just from library books on the subject, if money is a problem. Meditation, reading philospphy are free, or cognitive behavior, talk therapy are options.
You can get all kinds of body aches and digestion problems from being tensed up with anxiety. You need to see a professional for a diagnosis, preferably a psychiatrist, but if you can't afford it, your doctor can help depending on how experienced she is with your situation. A psychiatrist has much more experience though.
You need a professional diagnosis because all you get on this board is people's experiences and even if we were qualified to diagnose you it wouldn't work without some face to face discussion. My pharmacist and doc said anxiety and depression can go hand in hand, as continued anxiety attacks wear down your ability to be happy and even to think there is something called happiness that can exist. You might start out with just anxiety which can lead to dep.
Fact gathering here is useful to go along with a pro diagnosis, but it doesn't substitute for a professional diagnosis.
Yes......loose stool is very common with anxiety....trust me you are not alone in this. But yes you can also lead a very normal life with anxiety..I am doing it. I use to be a freaking basket case...didn't want to do anything, afraid to do anything..but not anymore. I was not going to let it run my life..now I RUN the anxiety. There are times I get an anxiety attack...but I manage. I do not take any anti-depressant, because that is excatly what they are for..depression. Yes they can help, but my doctor says it can make matters worse if you don't suffer from anxiety. I trust him....because I have changed so much...not that girl who was afraid to even answer my door!
could u tell me if sleeplessness and stomach disorder(loose stool) is also a part of anxiety?
About 50 seconds of every minute devoted to it is what it often amounted to. I couldn't tell whether depression or anxiety was the worst problem, and it wore down my ability to believe in any relief, especially when the first med did not provide more than 6 hours of minor relief, every day. Those clouds of grey came in like steel curtains around 4 pm, no matter how well I had been doing up to then.
As for meds, there are so many, and relief depends on your diagnosis, so you need to see a professional for a diagnosis. You can have a lot of anxiety due to a temporary situational issue that you may recover from on your own, with some therapy, or with therapy and meds, so that is all dependent on the ability of a professional to diagnose you, your honest attitude and ability to provide feedback which is really tough considering you are the person suffering and caught up in the pain, and finally your body chemistry. The latter may unfortunately mean that relief is just a luck thing if you need meds but your body does not respond to meds.
See a pro. Write back.
could i know the servirty of ur anxiety , about what was the symptoms and which medicines u used, it might be helpfull for me, i would be greatfull
Meds gave me a break from anxiety by removing the veil of fear that somehow had crept in. I felt normal all the time I was on it, but all those chills of fear just slowly disappeared in frequency until after a month or so they were virtually gone.
After 7 months I went off the med and still feel great. So in answer to your question, I was able to recover from anxiety. Everyone is different, and some get very little relief from meds though. I had thought anxiety would never end until I went crazy, but that is before I took the meds, so I believe in the healing power of meds, in that they allowed me to live a normal life so I could get back my normal life.
You should see a doc for a discussion of your situation, or better still a psychiatrist, since they have more experience. Perhaps their diagnosis will be to take some kind of therapy with a med if your anxiety is severe, or if your anxiety is moderate, maybe therapy alone will be the best choice. Reading up on therapies is a good idea as you might want to start on one right now.
I don't know if anxiety can make you crazy, but you can have a frightening panic attack in places where there is no available help, so it is best to talk to a professional as soon as possible.
