You are so NOT going to die on your birthday! Unless you do something really stupid that is........and I'm sure I don't need to write out the list of stupid things, and I'm sure you're too smart to do any of that anyway!
It IS a major transition and I can understand (and even remember) a certain amount of anxiety about it, but you're letting your mind get totally out of control!
"Adult, responsibility, can't rely on your parents anymore...." Hold on there g/f. You're folks are not booting you out of the house as soon as you blow out the candles, are they? They aren't expecting you to move into your own place, have a job, pay for college, buy life/car/health insurance, contribute large sums into a 401(K) buy a car, get married, have children, have all the relatives over for Thanksgiving and YOU do ALL the
cooking.........the process is much more gradual than that and you'll handle it just as well as you did during your early teen years. And as MrGreen so wisely put it, your folks are going to be around to help you figure stuff out. They aren't going to just toss you in the pool and say sink or swim! Relax!
Where this sudden fear of dying on your birthday came from is byond me. I do think it's just anxiety surrounding your perceived "old age" arriving too soon! You said yourself you're healthy, so stop sweating the small stuff and remember, it's ALL small stuff!
As to your question about people just up and popping off...........well, yes, it does APPEAR to happen that way, but again, as our wise MrGreen said, there was, without much doubt, already something wrong with them. There is nothing wrong with YOU!
So gather up a mess of family and friends and have one hell of a great 18th birthday party..........it's one of the best years of life! Get on with it and enjoy.
OH..............HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!
Peace
Greenlydia
Thank you.
That helped alot.
People just die if they have something serious wrong with them. You are not going to just suddenly die on your birthday. So forget about that one. Your parents love you and would do anything to help you out. No matter how old you are. I'm 39 and still living at home. A parents love is always there no matter what. It's just another year in your life. That's all. Nothing will change from the day of your birthday to the day after your birthday. You will still be you. Your folks will still be there for you.
