celexa for panic

I started on celexa at a very tiny dose of 5mg about a week ago.The lowest dose available is 10mg but with the consent of my doctor I started on 5mg(splitting a 10mg tab).
even on such a small dose I had some rotten panic attacks in the first few days.
I had a strong sense of things not feeling real and had insomnia.
things have settled and I was at the doctors today and she feels I am ready to up to 10mg.
I've been on many antidepressants and have to say even at a small dose the initial side effects are strong but do seem to subside

I tend to agree with you. In my experience, I was on Zoloft three years ago, and currently back on it now. I tend to feel more on edge the first few weeks and while I am going up in dosage, but my body starts to adjust after about a month.  Are you also talking to a therapist about these issues as well?  You are definately doing the right thing with your medication by consulting with your doctor.
