Comment to birdie0907 is to you sorry xxxx
In the same boat as you hun, I am convinced I have a heart condition and the doctors just carnt help me. I have had so many tests and been told that this is just anxiety but I just cannot accept it. Even when I do not have anxiety attacks I am getting all the physical symtoms.....lefts arm pain, pins and needles, tightness of the chest. Life is ruined with it hunni.
Check my post out on this forum, it shows just how out of control it has got. I wish you all the luck in the world and hope that you over-come this. Its horrible!! xxxxxx
I meant that you are happy when your anxiety is gone but when it lingers for months and gets deep rooted it becomes a fight for the patient. After a while you fight anx so much of the day you can't remember what it is like to be happy again.
Anx and depression go hand in hand feeding off each other, creating a vicious circle - for brevity I only mentioned anxiety (since there is the possibility some people aren't depressed or don't realize they are.) Most people who fight anx for 2 years have a deep rooted problem by then, and have dep as well.
Every minute was a fight for control for me after 3 months as it got really bad - I was the world's worst employee because every minute I had to fight anxiety for about 50 seconds so there was lots of waste time in the day.
everyone has some form of anxiety but i have never heard of happy anxiety. What is that?
" tight chest tired just not myself"
Anxiety makes you over-analyze your body as you are, looking for clues to some disease you are afraid exists. Your tests have proven there is nothing physically wrong so that is definitive proof. If you can accept this proof then you will stop worrying and anxiety will lose its ability to make little ouches seem like heart attacks.
You probably had these same "symptoms" before but just ignored them because you knew there was nothing wrong with you. Some people like this guy are not able to get rid of anxiety, at least not easily or quickly, however many have accepted reality and their anxiety disappeared.

" I had full blood work done all came back ok and I had chest xray came back all ok but I am not convinced" This summarizes your problem, so only the solution remains elusive. The CBT didn't help- have you tried meds? My meditation book said when anxiety or depression get deeply entrenched meds are necessary to help you remember what it is like to be happy again, at which point something like cbt or meditation can be more useful.
Last year I had full blood work done all came back ok and I had chest xray came back all ok but I am not convinced I feel horrible all day tight chest tired just not myself this have been part of my daily routine for 2 years maybe it is health anxiety I have had cbt was no help for me
I'm not a medical professional, so I can diagnose. But a couple of questions:
- have you been diagnosed with anxiety? If so, are you seeking treatment for this?
- what diseases/illnesses are you worried that you have?
- have you had tests run regarding those diseases/illnesses?
- if so, what were the results?
If you have been tested for something specific, and the results were negative, then your current anxiety over that could be attributed to health anxiety. Anxiety can be make us hyper-focus on any physical twinge or symptom we experience. It also can make us more vulnerable to jumping to the worst possible conclusion.
If you have been tested & received negative results, make a list. And when you feel a symptom that you start to worry could be xyz illness, start self-coaching yourself. "This is anxiety. It is not (xyz illness) because the test came back negative. I am healthy. This is just anxiety."
Anxiety is a LOT of retraining our brains. If you haven't sought help for anxiety, I'd really encourage you to do so. Self-care, therapy, exercise/diet, and medication are just some of the good resources available. Many of us on here have found success with one or a combo of these.
Best wishes - keep asking questions here, lots of good folks on this forum!
Because I think in back of my head I have some illness I have fear of dieing so very hard
I am the same way as you... I know it is health anxiety, for me at least.
Why are you not convinced you have health anxiety?
