In my opinion, seeking therapy is the most crucial step in dealing with this. CBT has a proven track record and through it you will gain the knowledge about how to confront and deal with your anxiety. I also agree that sometimes it does take time to find the right medication for you. I actually prefer Zoloft and the first time I went on it, I also stopped about a week in partly because I was nervous about taking it. It does take time for you to feel the benefits of it, and I am very glad that I made the decision to try it again.
For me the combination of the medication and therapy worked really well. You will have your setbacks (as with any challenges you will face in life), but just remember to keep your head up and give yourself credit for confronting this...keep us posted!
I just found an affordable center near where i live they treat anxiety disorders mostly with cbt have any one here tryed this before i would love some feed back
Years ago I was started on Zoloft and it made me feel a bit weird at first. I gave up on it very quickly because of the insomnia. Now looking back I wish that I had stuck with it because other SSRI's I tried had alot of the same side effects in the beginning. Give it time.
Hi. Your medication has not had time to build up to a therapeutic level to where it can help you, and you may still be experiencing your body adjusting to it. Know that each day will bring you closer and closer to feeling better, and if anything concerns you....be sure to contact your doctor...they need and want to know how we are doing and are used to getting calls from us....especially when starting a new medication. Your medication will really kick in between 4-6 weeks. Until then, if something is really concerning you...call your prescribing doctor to put your mind at ease. Take care.
