Hello and welcome!
Sounds to me like you're describing a fairly common symptom of anxiety, called "globus hystericus". Read over this link and see if this sounds familiar:

If indeed the sensation is determined by your doctor to be anxiety induced, the answer is to treat the underlying causative anxiety. While you're on meds for anxiety, have you tried any kind of therapy? Meds can be helpful in minimizing the symptoms of anxiety, however, the REAL progress happens in therapy, where you learn how to cope with the anxiety.
How long have you been on your current medication regimen? The Zoloft can take up to 8 weeks to be effective, and the Klonopin may need to be dosed differently. For Klonopin to be the most effective, typically it is recommended to be dosed twice daily. You may need to speak with your doc about that.
Have a chat with your doc about the meds, and if you haven't already started, ask for a referral to a therapist, preferably one who is well versed in CBT, or cognitive behavioral therapy, a kind of therapy that is usually pretty effective for anxiety sufferers.
Take care, keep us in the loop! We're here for you!
take the klonopin at the time of day that works for you. You can even take it in the morning with your zoloft, YES it is safe to take both at the same time. If it wasn't I would be dead long ago. :-)
Thanks so much so... I never thought about that so when I'm taking zoloft in the morning do I continue taking the klonopin at 12pm I'm currently doing deep breathing exercise when I feel my throat closing up I guess it takes time I'm so glad I found this site and help with other people who suffer from anxiety was again thank you for your time
Hi, Victor. I am VERY familiar with what you are dealing with. Your throat is 'closing up' because you are nervous about taking the med, which happens to many of us with anxiety. Klonopin is a benzo. They are NOT inherently just BAD. If you take them as directed ONLY, it is helpful. And when you are ready to stop taking it, your doctor will put you on a taper-down schedule so that you have little or no withdrawals. Never stop taking any prescription drug without your doctor's supervision. And about the Zoloft, you have alot of room to adjust when you take it daily. If you take it tonight before bed, take it at noon tomorrow, then in the morning the next day, then continue to take it in the mornings from there. I have done this with zero problems. - Blu
