pristiq

I am taking pristiq for awhile now and my depression is still very strong and the fatigue is very hard to do more and get up in the morning until near lunch.
Can I or should I go up to a higher dose of the pristiq? will it help?

I think you should talk to your doctor. The medication affects everyone differently. When I was taking Pristiq it seems all I did was sleep! It seemed to deepen the depression for me too. It might not be the right medication for you either.

Thankyou for your concern.
I have been to so many in the past and they just want me to go through and tell them the details of the horendous abuse as a child physically and sexually and it destroys me for weeks at a time and when I ask them what I can do to help and dont they help me as this just seems to be going nowhere good they say they are just a sounding board and thats what they do and thats supposed to help but i find it doesnt for me.
The docs put down everything I get to the depression even when really sick so I just have never had much leck at all with them but the few I have they have ended up moving or going to teaching and not available anymore so has been hard in that way.
I do wish though that there was a antidepressant that would help more as I hate my depression so much and the feelings of worthlessness and loneliness etc are always there even though I say I am fine ofcorse to people as you come across trying to do courses etc even with my beautiful grandchildren I am too sick at times to go there and they are all I live for and hold on for but is so good when I am okish and get to show some love to them and them to me is so wonderful its make slife worth living

Are you seeing a psychiatrist for your medication?  Have you been in therapy?  Getting to the root of the problem can be an immense help and relief of your anxiety.  A psychiatrist will want to know how you're doing on them, and if not......you need a new doctor.  They are well aware of side effects and want to know if you are having any and how bad they are.  It normally gets worse during the first two weeks of starting a medication and takes up to 6 weeks for you to feel better.  Have you had a thorugh check-up by your GP to rule out other causes for how you're feeling?  This is imperative so that we don't assume that something is anxiety or medication related.  I hope you can find a good psych doctor who will listen to you and that you get some relief.  I know it's frustrating and I wish you all the best.

Thankyou for your messages I appreciate them. Any doctors I see never seem to bother how the medicines affect me even when I have had bad reactions to them and always tell me to stay on them anyway until I just have to what is best for myself and have had to go off some at times with extreme side effects and then told by another doctor that I should have stayed on them, I just dont know sometimes and do have to go to so many different doctors over the years and just try to do what is best for myself as I know whats going on more than them as I have to live with and have no life at all on some of them for years until I am so sick of the terrible throwing up and sweating and drinking 10 litres of water a day and they still say to stay on them...its just not right. Then I am always told not to go to different doctors but is hard to find one that will listen or appreciate fully.
I will ask another doctor if there is a different one I can try its just that as soon as a doctor prescribes one for me they do not want to hear anymore about it no matter what or how bad so I did put up with so much for years as I know I terribly need something

I agree, the best thing for you to do is call your doctor, they need and want to know how the medication is working for you. These medications affect each of us differently so your doctor is your best resource.
